To reach there, the programme will assist CwVI to empower themselves, and stand up and speak out in society about causes, consequences and solution related to vision impairment. Their empowerment will be supported by influencing interventions to make society more supportive to PwD, and the sharing of knowledge to change harmful attitudes and human behaviour regarding VI associated with stigma and taboo. The following types of activities are planned under this Pathway of Change:
- Asses the needs of CwVI
- Support CS, including media, to raise awareness in society regarding rights and needs of CwVI, CRPD and CRC
- Support participation of CwVI and civil society action
- Support CwVI to become self-confident and self-reliant
- Support parents to care for CwvI
